An accomplished executive with more than 40 years of local and international leadership experience, Eng. Ahmed Ali Alsubaey currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Bahri.

Leveraging his extensive knowledge and experience in strategy development, sales and marketing, operations, and business development, Eng. Alsubaey leads the development and execution of strategies for Bahri’s future growth and expansion in the global logistics and transportation sector and allied industries.
As the CEO, Eng. Alsubaey is at the helm of Bahri’s efforts to enhance service offerings, boost capabilities, expand market footprint, and diversify into new business lines, with the aim of cementing the company’s global leadership in the maritime and logistics industries and increasing shareholder value.

He joins Bahri on the strength of a distinguished career journey spanning over four decades at Saudi Aramco and its affiliates. Most recently, he was Vice President of Marketing, Sales & Supply Planning in the parent company. His progression over the course of his remarkable career demonstrates his commitment to professional and personal growth, which has enabled him to become a leader who drives his company and team towards exceptional success.

Presently, he is the Chairman of Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Middle East – an automotive manufacturing JV between PIF and Hyundai Motors, board member of the global automobile major Aston Martin Lagonda Holdings Limited, Korean engineering and construction company POSCO E&C, Golf Saudi Company and the Golf federation of Saudi Arabia. Moreover, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of Bahri and subsidiaries since 2015. In addition, he serves as a member in the advisory committee of ZATCA - Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority of Saudi Arabia.

Previously, Eng. Alsubaey served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Aramco Base Oil Company (Luberef) and Saudi Petroleum Overseas Limited (SPOL). He also served in the boards of several other Saudi Aramco subsidiary and joint venture companies, including the Arab Petroleum Pipelines Company (SUMED), President of the Saudi Petroleum Ltd. in Tokyo, President and CEO of Saudi Petroleum International Inc. in New York, and CEO & Representative Director of S-Oil in Seoul.

Alsubaey was awarded the “Most Respected CEO of the Year” honor in 2009 by the Korean CEO Association. An avid golfer, he also enjoys learning new languages. In addition to Arabic and English, he also speaks, German, Spanish, Japanese, and Korean.

Eng. Alsubaey earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in electrical engineering from Northern Arizona University and holds an Executive MBA from Stanford University.
