As co-owner of the now 145-year old industrial group B.Grimm, Mr. Link co-founded, starting over 30 years ago, the first sustainable business alliances across Europe, North and South America with other business owners and multi-sector leaders. Together the activities they launched became living laboratories for innovations that generated the market evidence that more sustainable business opportunities can be successfully implemented across industries and continents.

Ever since, Mr. Link’s work has focused on innovations that successfully integrate economic development and business success with social and environmental regeneration and sustainability. These innovations range from clean tech and renewable energy, industrial and policy transformation to circularity and regeneration, impact investing and whole system carbon credits that taken together deliver realistic pathways towards climate positive economic development.

One of the focus areas of NOW Partners Foundation and the Future Economy Forum, which Mr. Link co-founded with hundreds of partners and partner organizations from around the world, is to internationally scale innovative forms of regenerative agriculture and forestry, which at present offer the only large-scale technologies that can sequester (absorb) massive amounts of carbon – profitably.
At the same time, these regenerative land-use technologies provide positive impacts on the whole system, including better farming yields and farmer incomes, food and water security, human health and biodiversity. These win-win opportunities will be the focus on Mr. Link’s half-hour open access presentation, from 3.00 – 3.30 pm on November 5th in ADIPEC’s Decarbonisation Theatre. Sequester carbon profitably at scale with innovative agriculture

Innovative agriculture and forestry are currently the only large-scale technologies that can profitably sequester significant amounts of carbon while boosting yields, farmer incomes, human health, and biodiversity. These solutions reduce farm subsidies, create investment opportunities, and enable carbon credits, supporting a realistic path to carbon neutrality.

 Attendee insights:

This session explores large-scale farming successes, the science behind them, and business models that can significantly scale these technologies across diverse climates and landscapes, including deserts.
