Intertrust
Dr. David Maher serves as Intertrust’s Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. With over 30 years of experience in trusted distributed systems, secure systems, and risk management Dr. Maher has led R&D efforts and held key leadership positions across the company’s subsidiaries. He was past president of Seacert Corporation, a Certificate Authority for digital media and IoT, and President of whiteCryption Corporation, a developer of systems for software self-defense. He also served as co-chairman of the Marlin Trust Management Organization (MTMO), which oversees the world’s only independent digital rights management ecosystem. Before joining Intertrust in 1999, Dr. Maher was Chief Scientist for AT&T Secure Communications Systems, Head of the Secure Systems Research Department, and the security architect for AT&T’s internet services platform. At Bell Labs, which he joined in 1981, Dr. Maher developed secure communications and e-commerce systems. He was Chief Architect for many of AT&T’s secure voice, data, and video products used by the White House and the Department of Defense. In 1992, Dr. Maher was named a Bell Labs Fellow for his contributions to communications security. Dr. Maher holds a Ph.D. in mathematics from Lehigh University and has dozens of patents in secure computing; has published papers in mathematics and computer science; and has consulted with the National Science Foundation, National Security Agency, National Institute of Standards and Technology, and the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment. He has taught courses in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Electrical Engineering.
