Scott Ryan is the Chief Operating Officer for Abu Dhabi Distribution Company soon to be TAQA Distribution. In this role, he is responsible for the asset management, capital delivery, operations and maintenance of the network supporting of Abu Dhabi. He has a particular focus on reliable and resilient networks, future grid initiatives and on enabling the energy transition. Prior to moving to Abu Dhabi, Scott was the Chief Operating Officer of a utility based in Sydney Australia, rising to the executive team after starting as a cadet engineer. Scott has implemented a range of improvements over his career focused on safety, productivity, reliability and future grid initiatives. He has an Electrical Engineering Degree, a Master of Business Administration, Graduated from the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and is an Honorary Professorial Fellow.
Technology has the potential to accelerate the transition of the energy sector to a low-carbon and clean energy system and contribute to meeting ambitious climate targets in time and in a just and equitable manner.
