Director - Office of Technology
Fluor
David Mercer is the Director of the Office of Technology at Fluor Corporation. Dave’s responsibilities include providing strategic support to all business lines and offices, related to the deployment of Fluor’s licensed technologies, intellectual property, the Fluor Fellows program and Fluor’s Professional Publications and Presentations program.
Prior to this role, Dave was the Head of Technology and Sustainability for Fluor Canada and served as a member of Fluor Canada’s management team. He supported the development of Fluor Canada’s strategy, business development and executive-level industry engagement.
He served as Department Manager for the Process Engineering and HSE in Design departments at Fluor’s Calgary office, and held early-career assignments in refinery operations, capital project development and execution, and business development.
Dave received a Diploma in Engineering from Saint Mary’s University, a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from the Technical University of Nova Scotia, and a Master of Applied Science (in Chemical Engineering) from Dalhousie University, in collaboration with Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands.
In addition, Dave has completed corporate learning through the Center for Creative Leadership and Harvard Business Publishing, a subsidiary of Harvard University.
