Mr. Tabassam Nafees currently holds the position of Chief In-Charge (Process & Plants) at Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), Pakistan’s leading Exploration and Production (E&P) Company.

He earned his Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the National University of Science & Technology (NUST) and Bachelor from NED University Karachi. With 25 years of extensive experience in Oil and Gas Processing Facilities and Refinery Operations. The Designing and Optimization of Brown Field and Green Field experience of Amine Processing Units, SRU, NRU, Membrane Processing, Cryogenic LPG and NGL Recovery Units, Dehydration (TEG and Mol.Sieve, Condensate Stabilization (Separator and Column Based), and Nodal Compression, WEC, Blow Case and FEC. Front Compression (Reciprocating and Centrifugal Gas Engine and Turbine Driven).

Besides looking after OGDCL own Processing Facilities, also responsible for the FEED, EPCC and Operational, Technical and Financial review and approval.

As a strong advocate for promoting Industrial-Academia collaboration, he actively represents industry experts on various educational platforms. He serves as a Member of the Advisory Board at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST), a Member of the Technical Board at Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI), and a member of Harvard Business Review’s Advisory Council, USA. He has also published two research papers in recognized journals.

 Besides, he actively contributes to the growth of young engineers by conducting numerous training sessions in both formats i.e., on job and lectures based.

Mr. Tabassam Nafees is the Chief In-Charge (Process & Plants) at Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), Pakistan’s premier Exploration and Production (E&P) company. He holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the National University of Science & Technology (NUST) and a Bachelor’s degree from NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi. With 25 years of extensive experience in oil and gas processing and refinery operations, Mr. Nafees specializes in the design and optimization of both brownfield and greenfield projects. His expertise includes Amine Processing Units, Sulfur Recovery Units (SRU), Nitrogen Rejection Units (NRU), Membrane Processing, Cryogenic LPG and NGL Recovery Units, Dehydration (TEG and Molecular Sieve), Condensate Stabilization, and various types of compression systems, including reciprocating and centrifugal gas engines and turbines.

In addition to overseeing OGDCL’s processing facilities, Mr. Nafees is responsible for Front-End Engineering Design (FEED), Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC), as well as operational, technical, and financial reviews and approvals. A strong proponent of industrial-academia collaboration, he actively engages in educational initiatives as a member of the Advisory Board at NUST, the Technical Board at Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI), and the Harvard Business Review’s Advisory Council, USA. Mr. Nafees has authored two research papers published in prestigious journals: "Separation of CO2/CH4 Using Polymeric Membrane" in the International Journal of Polymer Science and Engineering and "Model-Based Quality, Exergy, and Economic Analysis of Fluidized Bed Membrane Reactors" in the MDPI Membrane Section.

Dedicated to nurturing the next generation of engineers, he conducts numerous training sessions in both on-the-job and lecture formats. He is also an active member of several professional organizations, including PEC, SPE, and ALChe.
