Rozalina Shiela was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 1983. She grew up and completed her high school in Kuala Lumpur before continuing her study in University Technology of PETRONAS, Malaysia where she was graduated with bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. Starting her career journey in PETRONAS Melaka Refinery as a process engineer, she has been involved in various engineering functions and roles in project management, process engineering and plant operation/troubleshooting specifically in crude distillation and hydro processing units. As her career progressed in refinery, she had lead opportunity feedstock evaluation task force which widen flexibility and capability to process more than design feedstock where at the same time, meeting the product spec and units reliability. After a successful journey in refinery, she decided to strengthen her commercial skill by joining Refining, Marketing, and Trading, Corporate Office where she was directly involved and lead non-conventional project such as bio-solutions, co-processing project, circular economy and bio-feedstock evaluation including crude algae oil and used cooking oil. As a senior manager specializing in project management and with a track record of 18 years’ experience in refining business, Shiela has successfully played a key role in contributing to PETRONAS’s circular future including greenfield, repurposing and upgrading existing facilities for alternative fuels.
