Zamzila Kassim is a Senior Research Scientist at PETRONAS Research, Group Technology & Commercialization, specializing in hydrogen production and catalyst development. She holds a Master’s degree from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) and a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). She is also a certified Technologist.

Zamzila leads a team focused on developing catalysts for green hydrogen production and scaling up electrolyzer and reactor designs for commercialization. She is deeply involved in a PETRONAS initiative aimed at developing cost-competitive electrolyzer and NH3 cracking technology to recover hydrogen from ammonia. Additionally, Zamzila collaborates with various local universities and commercial partners to advance hydrogen production technologies and achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

With over a decade of experience in the energy sector, Zamzila has made significant contributions to enhancing hydrogen production processes, improving catalyst efficiency, and implementing sustainable energy solutions. Her comprehensive expertise also includes extensive work in carbon capture and CO2 cryogenic distillation, further underscoring her commitment to sustainable energy innovations.
